The far distant future, a time of hope and peace right? Well I’m here to tell you that, unless I am successful, that wont be the case. I’m from the future, you see, and have come back to this time in order to change it. Everything seems OK now, but as time went on the human race no longer progressed in a forward direction. It all started when a powerful religious group came into control and began to limit our sciences. Things like genetics which were important to the health of the general public were banned. Without natural selection human DNA has been slowly corrupting. It is not noticeable in this time but by then it was genetics that had kept us from falling apart. Things like bad eyesight and teeth, which had been a limited treatable problem before became widespread epidemics with ¼ of the population being unable to lead normal lives. Centuries of medicines controlling disease of the body and mind had weakened the human body’s ability to survive. Most people could not live this way and within a few generations the world had fallen into anarchy, with only a couple million people remaining. A small group of underground scientists like me had preserved much of the banned technology and managed to develop an army of microscopic machines designed to control the flaws in human DNA. While we were successful in healing the population in our time the world is still very much out of control so we have come to this time in order the cure the entire world before it happens. However it requires a large amount of energy to send these machines back in time which is why we need your hope. In order the complete my mission in time I need to run the time portal constantly for 3 years. The cost of powering this portal using this time periods limited power supplies is tremendous.
